Left northern Vermont for 10 days with a foot of snow on the ground. Came back to masses of snow drops. Small buds coming on the early daffs. Would have been crocus flowers except the chipmunks eat them first thing when they emerge from their holes in the rocks. AND bluebirds AND phoebes AND vultures overhead. All this in 10 days. We cleaned out the bird houses. 🥷 It was a brisk sunny breezy day.
No formal landscape yet as we are still newbies in our NM house, hopefully this summer the hardscaping gets underway. However we do have abundant greens/vegies that made it through the winter (most of January was below 20⁰F every night with several 7⁰ readings): Escarole, lettuce, spinach, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, radishes, collards, Komatsuna and Savannah mustards, Bok Choy, Napa, beets, turnips, chard, and Kohlrabi. But now we have to harvest it pretty soon as much of it wants to bolt in the warming spring!
Thank you for the tour, Boaz! I love to prowl my garden beds and yard too! My peonies are just pushing up, and the roses are putting out some fresh leaves. The grass has suddenly greened up and stood up, so mowing is in my near future! Daffodils, Bradford Pears, Magnolias and crocuses are all blooming here in the Ohio Valley, too. And I watched the video of your installation yesterday, and it is wonderful! Congratulations on that creation!
I hope you'll post photos of the black parrot tulips when they bloom!
Oh, I definitely will! I hope they're cool as they look in the catalog!
