I have participated in one bird count, I was living in San Diego County at the time. I'm going to see if I can participate now in a count here in Portland, Oregon. We get a lot more birds in our yard here, thanks to all the native planting I've done since we moved back two years ago. Thanks for bringing this up! I'm excited.
What a great holiday tradition. I'm a big proponent of and cultivator of native plants. Now I'm adding a bird counting to my holiday rituals.
