An assortment of botanical treats in this month's Rootbound Clippings
I was mindlessly scrolling the internet when these photos of a field of frozen seedlings stopped me in my tracks.
It was taken a few weeks back at the Washington State Department of Natural Resources’ Webster Forest Nursery.
To protect these seedlings from the coming cold snap, their staff, “gently showers the seedlings with a mist of water, and - after multiple applications - several layers of light ice build up to protect the seedlings from a freeze.” You can read more about it on their facebook post.
