Pittsburgh is Subtly Exploding
Redbuds, spring ephemerals and mystery seedlings!
From ten feet away, the forest near our house looks dead. Naked trunks jut out of the bare earth.
But if you step a little closer, the forest is blooming. On a walk last week, I spotted three native spring ephemerals that I’d never even heard of before. I only identified them with help from my Seek app.
